Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy 1960 graduating class to gather

Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy is long gone, but women from its 1960 graduating class will reunite Saturday, Aug. 21.

The Catholic high school opened in 1901 and was housed in a mansion at 210 N. Marsalis Ave. in Oak Cliff. In 1961, the school moved to new facilities renamed Bishop Dunne Catholic School and became co-ed.

The ladies met informally last in 2000, but plan to get back in touch at 2 p.m. Aug. 21 at Mi Cocina Restaurant, 11661 Preston Road.
